The RPD sponsored '73 Camaro Interceptor!
The Hot Pursuit Racing Team consists of seven cars that run the quarter mile in under 11 seconds. They race at the Redding Dragstrip on Street Legal nights and attend many local events and car shows throughout the year.

The Interceptor pit crew consists of local teens who perform a variety of duties at the track. The HPR team encourages them to resist drugs and alcohol and find a hobby to occupy their spare time.

While away from the track, HPR Team members assist each other with the maintenance and tuning of the vehicles. When not working on the cars, they enjoy match racing at the local track.

While at local events and car shows, the HPR team distributes information pamphlets from local law enforcement agencies regarding child seat safety, firearm safety, and illegal racing.
